Project Description:

Northern Star Resources is expanding the Fimiston processing facility and non-process infrastructure at the Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mine (KCGM) operations.

Services:

Neuplan was engaged on an EPCM basis to deliver the non-process infrastructure (NPI) scope.  The works were completed on time and significantly below budget.

Scope:

• All project management, project engineering, design, contract management, construction supervision and project controls.
• Construction of new in-plant NPI facilities including a workshop, multi-complex crib room, ice room, ablutions, macerator stations, storage shed and offices.
• Renovation of an onsite office to accommodate 164 personnel.

Project Description:

Northern Star Resources is expanding the Fimiston processing facility from 13Mtpa to 27 Mtpa at their Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mine (KCGM) operations.  Additional tailings storage facilities (TSFs) are required to support the increased processing throughput and life of the processing facility.

Services:

Northern Star has engaged Neuplan as the Owner’s Project Managers to complete the expansion of the TSFs.

Scope:

• Project management including contract management, reporting, controls, estimating & scheduling.
• Management of engineering consultants.
• Procurement management including quality, expediting and delivery to site.
• Construction & commissioning management.
• Handover to operations team in line with operational readiness requirements.

Project Description:

Neuplan has been engaged by Northern Star to prepare and support the administration of the A$900m+ ITC EPC Contract for the process plant facilities at the KCGM mill.

Scope:

• Update of general conditions of contract.
• Preparation of complex pricing structure and annexures.
• Contract negotiation with tenderers.
• Contract administration assistance during delivery.

Project Description:

The BHP Rail Technology project undertaken by Alstom (formerly Bombardier), encompassing an expansive enhancement of BHP’s railway network signalling systems and related infrastructure.  Project aimed at transitioning to a ‘moving block’ operation to augment efficiency and elevate the capacity of the transit from mining sites to port facilities.

Services:

Neuplan engaged to provide commercial, planning, and project controls services.

Scope:

• Planning and project controls – schedule development, baselines, progress capture, change control, reporting, variations, schedule changes, delay claims and extension of time claims.
• Contract Management Coverage.
• Engineering Services associated with the integration of Hi-Rail & Track Maintenance Machines (TMM) into the Moving Block Network.
• Contractual claim compilation for EOT & Variation Claims.

Project Description:

OreCorp (acquired by Perseus Mining in 2024) development of the Nyanzaga Gold Project in northwest Tanzania.

Services:

Neuplan was engaged to appoint an EPCM contractor for the project.

Scope:

• Completion of early contractor involvement (ECI) process to develop an executable EPCM contract.
• Drafting ECI and EPCM contracts, including preparing the general conditions, scope of work and pricing schedules.
• Assisting OreCorp to engage engineer to complete the detailed design of the access road for the project.

Project Description:

Tianqi Lithium constructed a lithium hydroxide plant in Kwinana Western Australia.

Services:

Part-way through the project, Neuplan was engaged to provide a Superintendent team to act as the Superintendent on the EPC Contract.

Scope:

• Superintendent role.
• Supporting Quantity Surveying.
• Administration of the EPC contract.
• Audit of past progress claims and assessment of progress claims.
• Dispute support and strategy.

Project Description:

Utah Point is a multi-user port facility in Port Hedland, owned and operated by the Pilbara Ports Authority.  Atlas Iron expanded Stockyard 2, over which it has exclusive use for a contracted period.

Services:

Neuplan was engaged to Project Manage the Stockyard 2 expansion.

Scope:

• All project management, project engineering, project controls, supervision and labour.
• Appointment of an EPC contractor for material handling infrastructure.
• Management of detailed design.
• Self-performance of civil work scope.

Project Description:

Corunna Downs (the Sanjiv Ridge mine) is Atlas Iron’s 4th development, producing 5 MTPA of iron ore.

Services:

Neuplan was engaged by Atlas Iron to provide procurement and commercial services. 

Scope:

• Procured and administered the required mining and crushing services contracts.
• Procured and administered other design and construct contracts required to bring the mine into production.
• Tender preparation and planning, contract negotiation and administration, including progress measurement, assessment of claims and management to commercial closure.
• Neuplan was subsequently engaged to provide similar services for the Miralga Mine development.

Project Description:

Upgrade of Abydos Link Road East, a 60km long road used to haul product from the Miralga Creek mine.

Services:

Neuplan partnered with Atlas to Self-Perform the upgrade of Abydos Link Road East.

Scope:

• Project management, engineering management and project engineering.
• Procurement, contract management, quality management and project controls.
• Site supervision, labour, machines and maintenance.
• The project was completed well under the estimated costs for the work.

Project Description:

Expansion and sealing of the Marble Bar Aerodrome by partners Atlas Iron, Calidus Resources, and the Shire of East Pilbara.

Services:

Neuplan was engaged to help the project partners in Self-Performing the expansion and sealing of the Marble Bar Aerodrome.

Scope:

• Project management, engineering and project engineering.
• Procurement, contract management and project controls.
• All site supervision, labour, machines and maintenance.
• Client costs were well below the best price received for delivery under a traditional contracting model.

Design and Construction of Roy Hill Mine, Rail and Port Facilities.

Neuplan was engaged by Roy Hill as part of the Integrated Owner’s Team, working on Samsung C&T’s EPC Contract.

• Collating and preparing defect notices and maintaining registers.
• Completions management of the Port section of the project.
